At Turtil, that included a Next.js college-management platform and an AI interface that connected institutional knowledge, application APIs and real UI actions. A college-management platform for administrators and staff: enrollment and invitations, academics, attendance, timetables, communication and campus operations. Its AI assistant used MCP, vector retrieval and application tools to answer with institutional context, call APIs and databases, and trigger real interface actions through chat.

Built across Turtil’s product ecosystem: the Next.js/React CMS used by college administrators and staff, and the React Native apps used by students and parents. CMS work covered enrollment, invitations, attendance, timetables, chat and campus operations, plus an AI assistant using MCP, vector retrieval and application tools for contextual answers, API/database calls and real UI actions. I also owned mobile releases, real-time WebSocket systems, testing infrastructure and production operations across APIs, PostgreSQL, payments and AWS.

Real-time chat and live poll updates over WebSockets. Moved from a managed platform (Convex) to a self-hosted Socket.IO service when the bill started climbing.
Offline-first persistence so core features stay usable on poor or absent networks, with attention to scroll and data-fetching performance on low-end devices.
Unit, integration and end-to-end (Maestro) testing with reliable backend seed data, so releases can be validated automatically instead of by hand.
Ran production across four AWS environments with Terraform — ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront — plus OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus and Loki for visibility.
